About Patrick J. Landy Jr.

Born and raised in Brevard County Florida, Patrick J. Landy Jr. is a passionate and zealous Trial Attorney. After High School, Mr. Landy attended UCF, majoring in Legal Studies, with minors in Criminal Justice and Political Science, as well as earning certificates in civil liberties and trial advocacy. At UCF, Mr. Landy was a member of the UCF Trial Team, serving as Lead Attorney for the “A” team. He led his team to the Opening Rounds of the National Championship, and won the “Outstanding Attorney Award” (highest competition scores in a season). Staying in Central Florida, Mr. Landy attended the Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law at Barry University for law school. He was again a member of the Trial Team, earning the prestigious “Honors Certificate in Trial Advocacy.” He co-founded, and was a board member of the “Veteran’s Legal Society,” advocating for Veterans by hosting numerous fundraisers and clinics in support of those who served our country. He also performed an internship at the 9th Circuit Public Defender’s Office where he assisted attorneys on various felony matters, and had the unique opportunity to assist trial counsel on a 2nd Degree Murder Case that resulted in a Not Guilty Verdict.

After passing the Bar Exam, Mr. Landy began his legal career as an Assistant State
Attorney for the 18th Judicial Circuit, prosecuting various misdemeanor offenses in County
Court. As a prosecutor, Mr. Landy had a distinguished trial record. One year, he had the most
trials, most trial wins, and highest trial winning percentage of all of the County Court prosecutors
in the 18th Circuit. He would later branch out from Brevard, and served as an Assistant State
Attorney for the 1 st Judicial Circuit in Pensacola, FL. At the 1st Circuit, he again prosecuted
misdemeanor offenses, and gained valuable experience practicing in different jurisdictions.

Mr. Landy was then hired by the renowned and distinguished Trial Attorney Michael
Bross, working as an associate for his firm. Learning from his mentor and great friend, Mr.
Landy handled hundreds of criminal cases. He drafted various Motions to Suppress, Motions in
Limine, and Appeallate Briefs. He also assisted Mr. Bross on numerous felony jury trials,
including homicides. He had the privilege to co-counsel two homicide trials, both of which
resulted in Not Guilty Verdicts. Following Mr. Bross’ retirement in 2021, Mr. Landy co-founded
Cook & Landy with attorney Michael Cook, practicing Criminal Defense.

Since founding Cook & Landy, Mr. Landy has handled hundreds of criminal matters
ranging from DUIs to Homicide. He is known as a fierce and zealous advocate for his clients,
who never gives up on them. His impeccable style and courtroom demeanor has earned him the
reputation as a “bulldog in the courtroom” from past and present clients. Mr. Landy is most
proud of being known as a Trial Attorney, willing to litigate and take to trial nearly any case if
it’s in his client’s best interest. His passionate and zealous advocacy is the perfect compliment to
his law partner Michael Cook’s detail-oriented, logistic approach, forming a great Criminal
Defense team. While no attorney can guarantee any result, Mr. Landy can guarantee that he will
fight as hard as possible to protect his clients, their rights, and work as hard as he can to achieve
the best result.
